Morgan Fox moves to QPR from Stoke City

Morgan Fox, the experienced left-sided defender, has left Stoke City to join Queens Park Rangers.

The 29-year-old defender, having made over 200 appearances in the Championship with Charlton, Sheffield Wednesday, and Stoke City, has signed a two-year deal with QPR, thus opening a new chapter in his career.

Fox expressed his excitement about the new journey and his ambition to propel QPR forward with his experience.

“It feels really good to be here, I’m excited,” he said. “I will be looking to use my experience to push this squad forward.”

During a recent meeting at QPR's Heston training facility with manager Gareth Ainsworth, Fox was notably impressed with the infrastructure and the club's direction.

“I came down here to see this amazing facility, and that is obviously a massive pull for players, to work in a place like this every day," Fox shared.

Fox, having played as a left-back for the majority of his career, has recently been utilized in a central-defensive role.

He sees this versatility as a strength, remarking, “I have moved into left centre-back and have also played at left wing-back. I think it is good to be quite versatile and play different positions.”

Eager to hit the ground running with QPR, Fox said, “The gaffer wants a tight-knit group, and it is a talented, young squad here. We will be looking to push on after what happened last season.”

QPR manager Gareth Ainsworth was equally enthusiastic about Fox's signing.

“I’ve said from the moment I came in that experience is lacking a little bit in this squad, we have got some fantastic young talent here but it needs some leadership and Morgan definitely brings that,” he said.

“Morgan is only 29 and there is no reason why he can’t have a really good stint here, and he brings healthy competition to that backline.”
