Republic of Ireland international Tara O’Hanlon is ‘buzzing’ after making the move on transfer deadline day from League of Ireland champions Peamount United to Manchester City.

“I’m really excited to be here at City and I’m buzzing to get started,” said 18-year-old O’Hanlon speaking to mancity.com.

“After winning the league with Peamount, I felt I was ready to try and make the step up to the WSL.

“I’m young, so hopefully I can come in and work hard over the next couple of months. I will do my best to try and earn a place in the team.”

The former Bohemians underage player has signed a 3.5 year deal with City.

She made her international debut for the Girls in Green in April last year in Austin against the USA but missed out on the World Cup.

City sit just three points off WSL leaders Chelsea at the minute.

Her new Head Coach Gareth Taylor said: “Tara is a talented young player.

“She’s clearly someone who is hungry to learn and continuously improve, and she will undoubtedly have the opportunity to develop at City with the team she will have around her.”

Two of her international teammates are also on the move Abby Larkin has joined Crystal Palace from Glasgow City (see here) while former Man City player Megan Campbell has joined London City Lionesses.
