Middlesbrough is bolstering its Academy with the signing of 19-year-old forward Daniel Nkrumah from Leyton Orient for an undisclosed fee.

The promising young striker is set to join the Championship club on 1st July after agreeing on a two-year contract with an option for a third year.

Hailing from East London, Nkrumah has climbed through the ranks at Leyton Orient.

He made his professional debut in the Papa Johns Trophy in September 2021, which was the first of his seven senior appearances for Orient. This included three League Two appearances during the latter stages of the 2021/22 campaign.

In the previous season, Nkrumah gained more first-team experience during two loan stints with Vanarama National League South side, Welling United. There, the young forward managed to notch up two goals in ten appearances.

Nkrumah's arrival at Boro marks the second youth acquisition for the club's development side in a short span of time. This follows last week's signing of Manchester City's young talent, Terrell Agyemang.
