First up is the encounter of Shelbourne vs Drogheda United in Tolka Park at 4pm. A lot has changed since the clubs last met in November 2006. While Shelbourne went on to win the league that season, they now find themselves in Division One, while United are Eircom League Champions.

Shelbourne go into this game high on confidence after five goals in two games for Anto Flood helped them see off Waterford United and Limerick 37 in the last eight days. Drogheda have also won their last two games against Cork City and Finn Harps respectively as there season is starting to take shape.

Shelbourne’s only taste of Premier Division football this season were their four preseason friendlies against Cork City, Finn Harps, St Pats’, and Bohs’ in which all games finished a draw. Drogheda however will be aware of the threat of Shels’, especially with the fixture changing from Drogheda’s United Park to Tolka Park.

Dermot Keely’s side has no injuries or suspensions for this game, however there are likely to be changes from the Limerick game only 72 hours previous, with Alan Mulcahy and Mark Rutherford looking for starts out wide having seen few opportunities to start in the league so far. Kevin Cornwall, Max Cream, and Philly Hughes may all feature.

Having successfully dumped Waterford United out of the League Cup after winning on penalties, Kerry League travel east to take on Wexford Youths, who will be looking to bounce back after defeat to Sporting Fingal on Friday. Joey Wadding returns from suspension, whilst Tomas Hawkins and Paul Murphy still remain sidelined. The game kicks off at 6pm.

Dundalk’s bid for promotion this season has seen them undefeated as they sit 5 points clear at the top of the First division. With 4 wins in a row, John Gill will be confident as he travels to Dalymount Park to take on Bohemians at 7:45pm. Pat Fenlon has a full squad to choose from with the exception of long term absentees Kevin Hunt and Thomas Heary. There should be numerous changes to the team who drew in Belfield on Friday. Fringe players such as Darren Mansaram and Harpal Singh could be set for starts with Chris Konopka getting a rare start in goal.

The remaining two League Cup fixtures are all Premier division clashes, with Bray Wanderers taking on Shamrock Rovers and Derry City welcoming local rival Finn Harps to the Brandywell. Both games kick off at 7:45pm.

There is one game in the eircom First Division today. Bottom of the table Kildare County will be looking for their first win of the season as they take on fellow strugglers, Monaghan United. There is an early 3pm kick off in Station Road.
