Shelbourne have wasted no time in preparing for the 2024 league campaign and swung back into action last week with two friendly games, resulting in a draw and a win.

They played Dundalk last Friday (Jan 12th) and drew 1-1 with new signing Keith Ward getting the Shels goal against his former club.

On Saturday (Jan 13th) they faced First Division side Bray Wanderers at the AUL and had a comprehensive 3-0 victory.

The Reds continue their preparations this week with the first of three Leinster Senior Cup matches, and their full set of fixtures in this competition are:

Wed Jan 17th v Wexford, Carlow IT, 7.30 pm

Thurs Jan 30th v Evergreen, Tolka Park, 7.45 pm

Mon Feb 5th, v Bray Wanderers, Carlisle Grounds, 7.30 pm.

There are lots of new faces at Tolka Park this season after 11 of last year’s squad have moved on to other clubs (or retired in the case of Luke Byrne)

Keith Ward, John Martin, Lorcan Healy, Sean Gannon, John O Sullivan, Dean Williams and Liam Burt (on loan) will all don the red jersey of Shels this season, and they will link up with the six players who were already under contract and a further seven who have signed contract extensions.

Damien Duff’s side begin their Premier League campaign away to Waterford on Friday Feb 16th, and extratime.com will be at the RSC to bring you live updates on that match.
