JR Wilson joins Sligo Rovers after spell with Shelbourne

JR Wilson has put pen to paper on a deal to join Sligo Rovers ahead of the 2024 season.

Wilson, 24, joins the Bit O'Red after a very recent stint with Shelbourne.

The full-back has spent the majority of his career at Tolka Park, while also lining out for Bohemians and Bray Wanderers.

His departure from Shels was confirmed only last week having made 31 appearances for Damien Duff's troops this season.

“I’m really looking forward to being part of the club," Wilson said after joining Sligo Rovers.

“The manager impressed me and convinced me sign here. He’s spoken to me a lot about the club and the season just gone. I know the plans he has and it’s exciting. He wants to build a new group and it was great to hear he wanted me to part of that.

“I’ve met people around the club today and it’s really positive. I can’t wait to move down and begin training.”
