St. Patrick’s Athletic continue to get their business done early this transfer window with another two players added to the squad.

Winger Alex Nolan and midfielder Kian Leavy join the Inchicore side as Pats strengthen ahead of their European campaign and a possible title charge.

Leavy arrives after being released from League One club Reading. The 21-year-old spent the first part of the season on loan at Dublin rivals Shelbourne.

He had made 11 appearances for the club in the Premier Division but has not featured since April due to injury.

Shels had offered Leavy a permanent deal after his release from the Royals, but the Ardee native rejected the offer opting to move to the south side of the Liffey.

“Kian Leavy has surprisingly turned down a contact with us and has left the club”, said Shelbourne Head Coach Damien Duff.

The Midfielder is a former academy product of St. Pats before he moved to England in 2018.

While Nolan signs for the club from UCD, and only played against Pats last Friday in the 7-0 hammering in Richmond Park.

The winger had made 22 appearances for the Students this season, scoring and assisting once before switching to play in Dublin 8. He had previously played for Shamrock Rovers, and Shelbourne in the underage national leagues.

Leavy will don the 17 jersey, while Nolan will wear the number 19.

Pats have been active in the transfer market already and the two new recruits today mean Jon Daly’s side have made four signings so far.

On Saturday, St. Pats announced the additions of Canadian defender David Norman Jr. and young English goalkeeper Matt Boylan.
