Yehor Yarmoliuk has signed a new five-year contract with Brentford, featuring an additional year as a club option.

Last season, Yarmoliuk made significant strides with Brentford B, appearing 16 times, scoring three goals, and assisting twice.

Despite an injury that cut short his 2022/23 season, the 19-year-old midfielder has regained full fitness and is slated to commence pre-season as a member of the first-team squad, following his recent promotion to Brentford's senior group.

“It is great news that Yehor has signed a new long-term contract," Brentford head coach Thomas Frank said. "I am pleased for him and also pleased that the coaches and I will get to work with him because he is a very talented young player who still has a lot of development potential."

Yarmoliuk made his debut for the first team against Gillingham in the Carabao Cup in November 2022, but his progress was halted due to injury.

"He was very unfortunate to pick up an injury last season; he had already made an impact in training and earned a debut and may have played more matches but for the injury," Frank explained.

"He is now fully fit again and ready for the start of pre-season. He earned his promotion to the first-team group and is ready to kick on again. The coaching staff are excited to see what he can do. We really believe he will continue to develop and if he does, he has a great future with us.”

Yarmoliuk came to Brentford from the Ukrainian side SC Dnipro-1 last summer, having risen through the ranks to make his senior debut against Vorskla Poltava in June 2020.

This achievement positioned him as the second-youngest player to feature in the top tier of Ukrainian football at just 16 years and 140 days old.

Yarmoliuk has also made a name for himself on the international stage, having made his debut for Ukraine's Under-21s at a tender age of 16.
