BRAY WANDERERS

Promotion hopefuls Bray Wanderers will be looking to prove a point on Friday night when they welcome Galway United to the Carlisle Grounds (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

The Seagulls were trounced by the Tribesmen during their last outing against John Caulfield’s side, losing 6-0.

But Wanderers chief Ian Ryan will be keen that his side have learned from that sobering loss at Eamonn Deacy Park – yet did concede it is one of the toughest tests his side could possibly face.

“We’re going OK at the minute,” he explained. “We would have liked to have held onto the lead last week against Cobh.

“But given the circumstances in which the game changed, it was a good point in the end.

“We know how good Galway are. They are probably the toughest task we can have presently in the league. They’ve won 15 of their 16 games so far.

“We know how hard it will be. For us, we want to keep out momentum going; keep our performances levels and hopefully the result will take care of itself.”

Jake Walker and Guillermo Almirall remain out for Bray – with Cole Omorehiomwan, Harry Groome and Ger Shortt suspended.

GALWAY UNITED

League leaders Galway United will be hoping that they can continue their procession to the Premier Division when they visit Bray.

The Tribesmen have won 15 of their 16 league games this term and are in the midst of a four-game winning streak.

Their last defeat came against Longford Town last month at Bishopsgate, but that is their only loss of the season so far.

They are also well clear of Waterford in second place, leading the Blues by 12 points in the table.

But Caulfield is wary of Bray’s threat after a ‘slow start’.

“Bray have invested well this year and after a slow start they have come right into form,” he said.

“They’re on a great run, but we’re on a good run ourselves and we’re looking to keep it going.”

Referee: David Dunne.
