Cork City sign Paul Hunt from local rivals Cobh as Kargbo and two more re-sign

First Division Cork City have unveiled the signature of goalkeeper Paul Hunt ahead of the 2021 campaign.

Hunt’s arrival to the 2017 League and FAI Cup Champions comes after he left Cobh Ramblers towards the end of the 2020 campaign.

City have also unveiled the triple re-signings of Uniss Kargbo, Cory Galvin and Mark McNulty.

“I am delighted to have signed with Cork City,” Hunt told Cork’s media team.

“I had a good chat with Colin, and he is building a good squad; there are a lot of young players in the group, so I hope that my experience will help the group.

“I am really looking forward to working with Mark (McNulty) and David (Harrington) every day and I can’t wait to get going.”

City boss Colin Healy added on the re-signings of Kargbo, Galvin and McNulty: “I am very pleased that he (Kargbo) has signed back; he is another talented, local player who has come through our academy, and I am confident he will contribute to the side in the 2021.

“Cory is still young, but he has played a good number of games in the league, so he will add some experience to the group.

“He is another local lad who really wants to do well for this club, and he will definitely give us a threat in attacking areas.”

“Mark has a long association with the club, and I am very pleased that he has signed back. He has huge experience which will be really important on the training pitch, and he will be an important part of the coaching team.

“He has worked alongside David Harrington for the last couple of years now and, along with Paul Hunt, the three of them will ensure that we have good options between the posts.”
