Kyle Callan-McFadden departs Sligo Rovers

Sligo Rovers have confirmed the departure of defender Kyle Callan-McFadden after the end of their league campaign.

Callan-McFadden departs the Showgrounds after helping the Bit O’Red to a fourth placed league finish.

While at the club, the 25-year-old was named as the club’s player of the season in 2017, and he was a nominee for the 2020 award.

“There is a bit of mixed emotions,” he said on his departure with his Sligo’s media team.

“It couldn’t happen to a better bunch of lads to finish fourth this season. They are a great group with no bad eggs.

“They deserve every success and the coaching staff as well. They have worked tirelessly with us, even through the lockdown, sending us programs and keeping us fit.

“It obviously worked because we hit the ground running and we haven’t really stopped. Hopefully they can go on to win the FAI Cup.”

He will now join English non-league side Kings Lynn Town where Irish under-21 midfielder and ex-UCD star Simon Power is currently plying his trade.
