NIFL Premiership Round-up - Week 19

Crusaders remain top of the NIFL Premiership courtesy of a 1-0 away win against Dungannon Swifts.

Paul Heatley grabbed the only goal of the game at Stangmore Park, as he cut inside the box before firing past Niall Morgan’s near post.

The win sees the Hatchetmen stay top of the table on goal difference, with a five goal advantage over Linfield in second place.

Linfield left it late to secure a hard fought 3-2 away victory against Coleraine.

Aaron Burns opened the scoring for the Blues from the penalty spot before the break.

Coleraine equalised twice in the second half, including an acrobatic over-head kick from Eoin Bradley, before Linfield’s Philip Lowry sealed the victory for the Windsor Park side with a simple tap in on 87 minutes.

Cliftonville occupy third spot in the table, five points behind North Belfast neighbours, Crusaders and Linfield.

A 2-1 win against Glenavon saw the Reds extend their unbeaten run to nine games.

Cliftonville piled on the pressure in the first half before Liam Boyce pounced on Joe Gormley’s deflected shot to put the home side in front.

Gormley doubled the lead for the Reds in the second half, before veteran defender Eddie McCallion was sent off for dissent.

Ciaran Martyn grabbed a late consolation goal for the Lurgan Blues, who have failed to record a league win in the last six games.

Meanwhile, Glentoran bounced back from their midweek defeat to Portadown with a 3-0 victory against Warrenpoint Town at The Oval.

Glen’s teenage sensation, Jordan Stewart, recorded another spectacular strike and opened the scoring.

David Scullion scored twice in the second half to ensure a comfortable win for the East Belfast side.

Elsewhere, a Darren Murray penalty saw Portadown overcome 10 men Ballymena United 1-0 at Shamrock Park, while basement club, Ards, lost their fourth game on the trot, with a 1-0 defeat against Ballinamallard United.
