FAI Cup 3rd Round draw

The draw for the Third Round of the FAI Cup has took place live on MNS this evening and it has produced some mouth watering clashes. The tie of the round sees one of just two all Premier Division games as Shamrock Rovers host Cork City at Tallaght Stadium.
The hat contained an odd number due to Monaghan United’s progression over holders Sligo Rovers in the second round before the club withdrew from both the Airtricity League and FAI Ford Cup in mid June. As a result, St Patrick’s Athletic received a bye to the Quarter-Finals, being the first tam drawn.
The Third Round ties will take place on the week ending Sunday the 26th of August.
