Preview: Athlone Town vs Kildare County

The bottom two clubs in the First Division come face to face tonight as Athlone Town play host to Kildare County in Athlone. (Kick-off 19:30). Kildare County are facing the possibility of four straight league defeats tonight and will be eager not let closest rivals Athlone pull further ahead of them.
Athlone Manager Dermot Lennon will be without Noel McGee due to a one match ban having reached 4 yellow cards. David O’Dowd is still out from an arm injury picked up in a work accident. He is expected to be out for two months.
Lennon has also added two new players to the squad. Local talent 18 year old Robbie Egan a midfielder who has played with Cherry Orchard for the last couple of seasons returns to play with his home town club.
Richard Fitzgibbon a 29 year old goalkeeper who previously played with Leinster Senior League Glenmore Dundrum also signed on the dotted line after training Thursday night.
They will however not be eligible to play in Saturday’s game.
