Bohemians welcome non-league Douglas Hall to Dalymount Park on Friday night in an intriguing FAI Cup 3rd round tie. (Kick-off 7.45)

The Cork side come to Dalymount just two days after losing a play-off for the Munster Senior League title. They went down 2-0 to Roy Keane’s old club, Rockmount, on Wednesday evening.

Bohs on the other hand lost their first away game of the season last Friday, after they were defeated 1-0 by rivals Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght Stadium.

Bohs boss Pat Fenlon thought his side deserved more from the game. “I thought we deserved something out of the game but we’ve got nothing,” Fenlon said.

He also praised the performance of goalkeeper Chris O’Connor who started the season with a shoulder injury but has stood in well for the absent Barry Murphy, who has now recovered from a groin injury.

Gypsies manager Fenlon is expected to give the younger members of his squad a chance on Friday and will have to do without the services of Ollie Cahill and Mark Rossiter who are both injured.

Douglas Hall beat Dublin side Glebe North in the last round and last reached this stage of the competition in 2007 when they beat Cobh Ramblers 4-1 in the second round and pushed Limerick 37 to a replay where they lost 1-0.

The Cork side are well established in the Munster Senior League premier division and are managed by Phil Harrington, who is assisted by Kelvin Flanagan and Philip Long.

All three were part of Cork City's FAI Cup winning squad in 1998. That team was managed by Dave Barry, who is currently managing Douglas Hall's Under-12s.

It's certainly going to be a difficult task for the non-league side, but Bohs aren't the same force they were in previous years and with Fenlon resting players, anything could happen.
