The FAI has announced that Sky will become the new sponsor of the Republic of Ireland men's team, extending the already existing deal they have with the women's side.

Since the mobile network provider "Three" ended their sponsorship with the Boys in Green in 2019 after nine years on the jersey, the association has been without a sponsor.

The new Ireland men’s and women’s kit will now have a Sky logo on the front of the jersey.

Under the new deal Sky will sponsor both the men’s and women’s teams until the end of 2028, with the British broadcaster supporting both squads through four major tournament campaigns – the 2025 Women's European Championships, the 2026 World Cup campaign, the 2027 Women’s World Cup campaign and 2028 European Championships.

Although no financial details surrounding the deal have been announced, it is reported that Three's last deal with the team, renewed in 2015, was worth €8.9m.

FAI CEO Jonathan Hill spoke with RTÉ about the new deal this morning, "Sky has been a fantastic partner to the FAI for a number of years," he said.

"Their groundbreaking partnership with our women’s national team has been a great success and they have helped to drive phenomenal growth in women and girl’s football in Ireland."

Sky Ireland CEO JD Buckley revealed thar the developments that have taken place since getting onboard with the FAI was key to the decision.

"Over the past two and a half years, we have enjoyed a fantastic partnership with our women's national team," he said.

"We are thrilled and proud to announce the extension of that partnership and our brand new primary partnership with the men’s national team."

The sponsorship announcement came on the day the FAI revealed their new Castore home kit. The FAI noted that:

‘Available in the iconic green colourway and representing the fabric of Ireland, the 24/25 Home Kit showcases a heritage shield knot print symbolic of protection, kinship, and unity. The unique details of the print and the Éire branding at the back of the jersey give a subtle nod to the heritage  across the  country of Ireland.’
