Extratime.com staff predictions - Premier Division 2024

It is that time of the year again, the League of Ireland Premier Division season is upon us with the first games set to kick off on Friday night.

With the start of the season this week comes the annual extratime.com staff predictions as we attempt to predict the outcome of the top flight once again.

Last year we incorrectly predicted that Derry City would claim the title - but we did correctly foresee UCD’s bottom place finish.

Although, we did not foresee Cork City’s struggles at the foot of the table, nor did we see Shelbourne reaching the top four.

But for 2023 we have predicted that Shamrock Rovers will claim a record-breaking fifth league title in a row.

We also believe that Derry City and St Patrick’s Athletic will complete the top three.  We also reckon that Shelbourne will remain in fourth - with Bohemians and Dundalk just missing out.

But surprisingly, we expect a season of struggle for Sligo Rovers at the foot of the table.

After that, it is very tight in our picks for 9th, with Waterford only just there by a couple of points…

Let us know what you think.
