The 20-year-old midfielder has joined the FAI Cup winners on a permanent deal ahead of the new season.

Pettifer has featured for Pats in recent pre-season wins against Cork City and Drogheda United.

The Englishman joined Bolton Wanderers when he was 8-years-old, and progressed through the ranks at club to sign his first professional contract in the summer of 2022, and he made two senior appearances for The Trotters.

"I'm delighted to be here, it's a massive club in Ireland and it's a brilliant move for me at this stage of my career,” said Pettifer when speaking to the St. Patrick’s Athletic media team.

“I've been looking for an opportunity to move into senior football and once I heard Pat's were interested, it was a no brainer to come here.

“My time at the club so far has been excellent, I've settled in well living with a couple of the lads, we had a team bonding day Go Karting during the week, we've just done the photoshoot which was good and I've been training and played in two of the pre-season games, all the lads have been really good with me so it's gone well so far”.

Manager Jon Daly on the signing of Pettifer stated, "We are delighted that Arran sees the next step in his development with us at St Pat's.

“He comes with a great schooling at Bolton Wanderers and has some fantastic attributes that we feel will help the team and squad as a whole as we head into the new season in a couple of weeks.

“He's the type of player we've been looking to add to the squad and he's done really well in training and in the games he's played in.

“We've got a really good group and Arran has settled in well so far, along with our other new recruits, we're looking forward to working with him."

The Saints earlier this week appointed former Republic of Ireland international Stephen Elliott as Head of Academy Football at the club.
