Fleetwood Town have officially confirmed the signing of forward Tommy Lonergan from St Patrick’s Athletic.

The 20-year-old joins the club on a two-and-a-half-year contract with an option for an additional year.

Lonergan first made a splash in the underage National League with St Pats before transferring to UCD.

His first professional season saw him scoring 12 times for UCD, including the decisive goal in the Promotion/Relegation Play-off Final against Waterford FC in 2022.

After a stint with UCD, Lonergan returned to St Pats in November 2022.

He comes to Fleetwood with the experience of scoring in the FAI Cup final victory over Bohemians, as well as playing in both the UEFA Youth League and the Europa Conference League.

The Dunboyne-born player has also made his mark on the international stage, representing the Republic of Ireland across three age levels, from Under-16s to Under-19s, and has scored eight goals in 14 international appearances.

As Fleetwood Town's new number 14, Lonergan is available for the team's upcoming match against Port Vale on Saturday.
