Colchester United have signed attacking winger Harry Anderson on loan from League One side Stevenage.

Colchester currently sit in 21st position in the English second division.

The 27-year-old has agreed to remain at Colchester until the end of the season, where he will work beneath managers Danny Cowley and Nicky Cowley having played under the pair at Braintree Town in 2016 and Lincoln City between 2017 and 2021.

Speaking with Coventryfc.co.uk, Anderson said: "I always loved working under them and I can't wait to get some game time and minutes under my belt."

The Englishman began his footballing career in 2015, where he signed his first professional contract with Peterborough United.

From there, Anderson went on loan to Braintree Town, St Albans City, and Lincoln City, before signing a permanent contract with Lincoln city in 2017.

The winger then transferred to Bristol Rovers where he spent two full seasons before eventually moving to Stevenage in 2023.

With an impressive tally of 40 goals throughout his professional career, the 27-year-old will no doubt a pivotal player for the U's for the rest of the season.

"Harry is a brilliant kid. He played a huge part in helping us get promoted at Lincoln twice," Danny Cowley told BBC Essex.

"We watched him play this week for Stevenage in the Herts Senior Cup against Potters Bar.

"Even for that game, where others might not give it everything, he played with so much intensity. It makes complete sense to sign him and he's going to be great for this football club."
