Accrington Stanley have announced the signing of goalkeeper Radek Vitek on loan from Manchester United until the end of the season.

Vitek joined Manchester United from Sigma Olomouc three-and-a-half years ago.

He was a key player in Manchester United’s 2022 FA Youth Cup victory, playing in all six rounds alongside Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.

Vitek, a 20-year-old Czechia youth international, made his EFL Trophy debut three months later and has been named on Erik ten Hag's first-team substitutes' bench seven times across the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons.

John Coleman, Accrington Stanley’s manager, shared his thoughts on the new signing: "Radek is someone who we monitored in the summer. He's a good goalkeeper, decent with his feet, can command his area, and ultimately, goalkeepers are judged on keeping the ball out of the net, so hopefully he'll do that for us."

Vitek expressed his eagerness to start playing: "I want to start as soon as possible. The move to Accrington will suit me, and I hope to get as many games as possible. The main thing is I want to start playing regularly and get some important matches under my belt."
