Ronan Coughlan joins Fleetwood Town on 18-month deal from Waterford

Ronan Coughlan has signed with English League One side Fleetwood Town, moving from Waterford on an 18-month deal.

The 27-year-old was pivotal in Waterford's promotion to the Premier Division last season, netting 33 goals in 29 games. This feat not only broke the First Division scoring record but also set a new record for the most goals scored for Waterford in a single season.

Coughlan's final goal for the Crystal County proved to be his most crucial, as he scored the winning goal in their 2-1 victory over Cork City. This victory secured their promotion in the Premier Division playoff final.

With a distinguished playing career in Ireland, representing Bray Wanderers, Cork City, Sligo Rovers, and St Pats in the League of Ireland, Coughlan is well-versed in English football. He previously played with Huddersfield's youth teams from 2014 to 2017.

The Limerick-born striker was named Waterford's Player of the Year following the Blues' promotion.
