Slattery has signed an extension with Shels which will see her remain at the club in 2024.

The 34-year-old central defender joined the club back in 2015 from Raheny United and has become a stalwart for the Reds since her arrival in Tolka Park.

The Dubliner has won numerous major honours with Shels including three league titles, and four domestic cups (Two WNL Cups and Two FAI Women’s Cups).

On extending her stay at Shelbourne, Slattery stated, “Delighted as always to continue with our great club for another season” she told the club’s media team.

“After coming so close last season, we want to take that extra step and try to go one further in 2024.

“I’m excited by the fresh start with Eoin, Rory, and the rest of our great staff and I’m looking forward to getting started with everyone. I’m ready to give everything with the best group of teammates I’ve had the pleasure to share a dressing room with”.

New manager Eoin Wearen, who replaced the outgoing boss Noel King at the end of the 2023 campaign, spoke of the importance of keeping a leader like Slattery apart of the squad for next season.

“Pearl is the heartbeat of this team and someone every player in the football club looks up to.

Her Value and importance to the squad is immeasurable and she is the perfect role model for any young player in the country in terms of her professionalism, consistency, and impact she has had on the women’s game in Ireland.

Pearl’s ability, leadership and game intelligence are of the highest level, and we are very fortunate as a club to have her as our captain”.

Slattery and co begin their 2024 league campaign with a home game against Sligo Rovers on the 9th March.
