Athlone Town re-sign Oisin Duffy and German Fuentes Rodriguez for 2024 season

Athlone Town have confirmed they have re-signed central midfielder Oisin Duffy ahead of the 2024 season which kicks off on February 16th with a home game against Wexford.

The 22-year-old Ballinasloe native has come through the underage ranks at Lissywollen and played with the U-17’s and U-19’s since joining the club in Sept 2017.

He joined the senior squad this year and went on to make 29 league appearances for the Midlanders, scoring once in their first home league game against Finn Harps at the end of February.

The club have also announced that another player, German Fuentes Rodriguez, has signed a contract extension and will remain at the club for the 2024 season.

The 25-year-old El Salvador born Rodriguez joined the Midlands club in January 2023 and went on to make an impressive 34 league appearances over the course of the season, helping them to a fifth place finish and a spot in the Promotion Play Off’s.
