League Preview: Cobh Ramblers -v- Finn Harps

COBH RAMBLERS

Liam Kervick and Dean Larkin are set to return to the fold when Cobh Ramblers host Finn Harps at St Colman’s Park (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

The on-loan Waterford missed Cobh’s 2-0 win over the Blues last week due to the arrangements of their respective loan deals.

And Shane Keegan was also without the services of midfielder Pierce Phillips for the game due to injury.

But the Rams rose to the challenge with their win all but securing their spot in the play-off places.

And they will be keen to maintain their current form heading into the play-offs in coming weeks when they welcome Harps to their home venue.

FINN HARPS

Following an agonising FAI Cup defeat against St Patrick’s Athletic last weekend, Finn Harps face their longest away trip of the season when they travel to Cobh.

And they head to St Colman’s with little left to play for in the league except for pride after a challenging season under boss Dave Rogers.

But Rogers was at pains to stress his side will try to get as many points between now and the end of the season.

“I told the lads in the dressing room that we want to win as many points as possible,” he told Finn Harps TV.

“I want to get up that table, the players do and the club does as well. But you look at Cobh Ramblers and they finished bottom last season.

“They won just four games but they are in the play-off positions this season by adding three or four players who know the league.

“It’s no lost cause for us because we knew this year was going to be a transitional year and I am not going to shy away from that.

“But now we have a chance with six games to go to for the players to implement the way we played against St Pat’s in the FAI Cup.”

Noe Baba and Ryan Rainey are suspended.
