Bohemian's promising left-back, Derwin Adewale, has sealed a transfer to Serie A outfit Lecce for an undisclosed fee.

Adewale, a product of the Bohemians academy system, had become a regular fixture for the club's U19 side and was instrumental in their Enda McGuill Cup triumph last year.

Starting his journey with St Kevin’s Boys before joining the Bohemians academy, Adewale made his senior team debut against Sligo Rovers in the previous November.

He also featured in first-team Leinster Senior Cup victories over Crumlin United and Shelbourne this season.

Expressing gratitude for his time at Bohemians, Adewale shared, “The club has been like a second family to me. I’ll always cherish our moments and hold a special place in my heart for this club.”

He further acknowledged the significant role of coaches Trevor Croly, Carl Grehan, Seán L’Estrange, Patrick Kavanagh, and Craig Sexton in his development.

Craig Sexton, Bohemians Head of Academy, reflected on Adewale's journey, stating, “We are very proud of Derin moving to a Serie A club. He has showcased dedication in his football and his education, securing impressive Leaving Cert results. He symbolizes our commitment to supporting dual careers of football and education.”
