Sheffield Wednesday has secured a loan deal for midfielder Jeff Hendrick from Premier League side Newcastle United.

The experienced midfielder will wear the Owls' jersey for the remainder of the current season.

Hendrick, hailing from Dublin, boasts a remarkable track record with over 400 senior appearances, predominantly in the Championship.

He has showcased his offensive prowess with a total of 38 goals and has represented the Republic of Ireland 79 times on the international stage.

The Irishman's journey in football started with Derby County, where his impressive performances earned him the Rams’ Young Player of the Year accolade after his breakthrough into the first team.

Following nearly 200 appearances for Derby, Hendrick transitioned to Burnley for a four-year term at Turf Moor.

His journey continued as he then joined Newcastle, and from there, ventured on loan to QPR and Reading.

As he prepares for his new chapter at Hillsborough, Hendrick will don the number 22 shirt during his stint with Sheffield Wednesday.
