Spanish World Cup winners Aitana Bonmatí and Olga Carmona along with Australian star Sam Kerr have been nominated for the 2022/23 UEFA Women's Player of the Year award.

For the award, an initial shortlist of players was selected by the UEFA technical observers based on their performance during the 2022/23 season at club and/or national team level.

The top three nominees were voted for by a jury composed of the coaches of clubs participating in the group stage of UEFA Women’s Champions League, together with the coaches of the women’s national teams of UEFA’s member associations. The coaches were not allowed to vote for players from their own team. A group of journalists selected by the European Sports Media were also part of the jury.

The three players who received the most points are, in alphabetical order:

Aitana BONMATÍ (Spain – FC Barcelona)

Olga CARMONA (Spain – Real Madrid CF)
