Spanish player Aitana Bonmati was named player of the tournament at the World Cup – picking up the Golden Ball award.

The Barcelona player beat her international teammate Jennifer Hermoso into second place and Sweden’s Amanda Ilestadt into third place.

The adidas Golden Ball is awarded to the best player in the final competition on the basis of a ranking compiled by the FIFA Technical Study Group.

Spain’s 19-year-old player Salma Paralluelo won the young player of the tournament award.

The Golden Boot Award went to tournament top scorer Hinata Miyazawa from Japan who scored five goals.

The Silver Boot was won by Kadidiatou Diani from France with Germany's Alexandra Popp in third – both players scored four goals but Diani had three assists while Popp had none.

Japan won the team fair play award.
