Chelsea has officially confirmed that Hakim Ziyech will be heading to Galatasaray on a season-long loan.

The Moroccan international, aged 30, made his way to Stamford Bridge from the Dutch club Ajax in 2020.

His stint with the Blues saw him play a role in their triumphs at the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Out of his total 107 outings wearing the Blue jersey, Ziyech netted the ball 14 times.

One of these goals was scored against Villarreal in the Super Cup in Belfast at the onset of the 2021/22 season.

Ziyech's professional football journey began in 2012 with Heerenveen, a club based in the Netherlands.

His talent and potential led him to sign with another Dutch club, Twente. By 2016, Ajax secured him with a five-year contract in a deal reportedly worth €11m.

The 2018–19 season stands out in Ziyech's career, marking his highest individual tally with 16 goals and 13 assists in the Eredivisie. The subsequent season saw him joining Chelsea in the Premier League.

While born in the Netherlands, Ziyech had the choice to play internationally either for the Netherlands or Morocco.

He chose the latter and went on to represent Morocco in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

His skills on the field didn't go unnoticed. In 2019, Ziyech was featured among the top 20 players in the UEFA Champions League for the 2018–19 season. The same year, The Guardian ranked him 29th in its list of "The 100 best footballers in the world."
