Neymar Jr, once the world's most expensive footballer, has departed Paris Saint-Germain for Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.

The deal was struck for a reported 90 million euros, with Neymar's annual salary said to be even higher than that figure.

Announcing his transition, Neymar shared a video on Al-Hilal's Twitter, joyfully proclaiming, “I am here in Saudi Arabia, I am HILALI.”

Born in Brazil's Mogi das Cruzes, Neymar began his professional journey with Santos FC in 2003.

Climbing through the ranks, his technical prowess saw him dominate the Brazilian football scene before moving to FC Barcelona in 2013.

Following a successful stint in Spain, Neymar made his move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.

In his time with PSG, Neymar accumulated an impressive record.

In six seasons, he netted 118 goals in 173 appearances, making him the club's fourth highest scorer of all time.

Neymar contribution to Brazil's national team is also impressive. With 77 goals in 124 appearances, he currently shares the top scorer title with football legend, Pele.

Reflecting on Neymar's departure, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, President and CEO of Paris Saint-Germain, shared his thoughts.

"It is always difficult to say goodbye to an amazing player like Neymar, one of the best players in the world."

"I will never forget the day he arrived at Paris Saint-Germain, and what he has contributed to our club and our project over the last 6 years."

"We had a great moment and Neymar will always be a big part of our history. I would like to thank Neymar and his family. We wish Neymar all the very best for the future and his next adventure.”
