FC Bayern Munich, the reigning Bundesliga champions, have added another star to their already glittering lineup.

England's top striker, Harry Kane, is set to swap the Premier League for the Bundesliga, sealing a transfer from Tottenham Hotspur.

Kane has committed to the German giants until June 2027 and will wear the number 9 jersey.

Commenting on the transfer, FC Bayern's president, Herbert Hainer, praised the persistence of those involved in sealing the deal.

"The transfer required tenacity, bite and perseverance", Hainer commented, acknowledging the complexities of such high-caliber moves.

Jan-Christian Dreesen, FC Bayern's CEO, echoed Hainer's excitement, noting that Kane was the club's "absolute dream player."

Dreesen highlighted Kane's exceptional character, both on and off the pitch, as an essential attribute for the club's heritage and DNA.

For Kane, the move is a significant step in his career.

"Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world," Kane remarked.

"I’m very happy to be a part of FC Bayern now.  I’ve always said that I want to compete and prove myself at the highest level during my career. This club is defined by its winning mentality - it feels very good to be here."

The 30-year-old striker's journey started at London's Ridgeway Rovers.

He joined Tottenham Hotspur's academy in 2004 after stints with Arsenal and Watford. Kane, during his time at Spurs, became the club's all-time leading goalscorer, an achievement that cements his legacy at the North London club.

He became the all-time record goalscorer, overtaking Jimmy Greaves' 266 goals during last season. He ended his Spurs career with 280 goals in 435 appearances in all competitions.

Daniel Levy, Tottenham's chairman, shared heartfelt sentiments about Kane's departure. "It has been a truly remarkable journey," said Levy, emphasizing Kane's influence and inspiration to the younger generation of players.

Levy also extended an open invitation for Kane, stating that the striker would always be welcome back.
