Bristol Rovers have successfully secured season-long loan deals for Brentford footballers Matthew Cox and Tristan Crama.

Goalkeeper Matthew Cox, 20, served as a backup for David Raya on 24 different occasions.

In addition to playing for Brentford B during their triumphant Premier League Cup campaign, Cox was also part of England's 2022 UEFA European U19 Championship team and England's 2023 U20 World Cup squad.

During the U19 Championship, he started in four out of five matches and was named in the Team of the Tournament.

Brentford's head coach, Thomas Frank, praised Cox for his abilities, stating that Cox "has all the attributes a modern goalkeeper needs. He has very good positioning when coming for crosses and is a great shot stopper and with the ball at his feet. He has a hunger to acquire new tools in every training session, a mature personality and outstanding learning skills."

French centre-back Tristan Crama will also join Bristol Rovers for the season.

Crama, who joined Brentford from Béziers in 2020, has frequently represented Brentford's B side.

Interestingly, both Crama and Cox featured in this month's friendly match with Bristol Rovers. Crama also made a mark when he scored for Brentford in a pre-season friendly against Rangers in February 2022.
