Newport County have announced the signing of Josh Seberry.

The 19-year-old Irishman joins the club on a two-year contract after impressing manager Graham Coughlan during a trial period which included friendly wins over Undy and Pontypridd United.

Seberry, who hails from Ireland, initially garnered attention while playing for Drogheda United, before moving to Shelbourne's under-19 team.

Now, he's set to make his mark in League Two football at Rodney Parade.

Manager Coughlan sees Seberry as a valuable asset, saying, "Josh comes very highly recommended. He’s a natural athlete and has great physical attributes."

Coughlan acknowledges the young defender's development journey ahead, but describes Seberry as an "exciting project," adding, "we are all really looking forward to working with him."

Seberry, for his part, is equally enthused about his move to Newport County.

He praised the high training standards, the brilliant staff, and the notable Irish connections at the club.

Expressing his excitement, he said, "There’s a really good vibe among the team as well. I can feel myself getting quicker and sharper already, so hopefully the only way is up from here."
