Crystal Palace Women have announced that midfielder, Shauna Guyatt, has signed her first professional contract with the team.

After transitioning from the Chelsea Academy to Crystal Palace in the summer of 2022, Guyatt made an impact with her 14 appearances in the Women’s Championship last season.

Notably, her contributions on the field earned her a spot on the England Under-19s squad, where she debuted in a 5-0 win against Slovenia.

A lifelong supporter of the club, Guyatt expressed her elation at the opportunity.

“It’s great to play for the club you support – it’s literally a dream come true. My Dad’s a big Palace fan, so I didn’t really have a choice growing up – but I’m happy about it!" she said.

Reflecting on her journey so far, Guyatt revealed, “I found the gap quite big, but as I carried on, people were so supportive. I grew into it and I think, this year, I can definitely do more again. It was one of the best decisions I’ve made."

Anticipating the next season, she praised the club's supportive environment and excellent facilities, “We’ve already got a great feeling so far in the club. The facilities are lovely and it’s such a nice environment around here. I can’t wait for next season – it’s just such a good feeling, I’m really looking forward to it.”

Grace Williams, Head of Women’s Football at Crystal Palace, expressed her delight at Guyatt's contract signing and recognized her as a promising talent.

“Shauna is undoubtedly a bright young talent, and we look forward to helping her fulfil her potential at the club she and her family support.”
