Aston Villa has announced the signing of Josh Feeney to a new long-term contract. Feeney, a center-back, joined Aston Villa from Fleetwood Town in July 2021 and has since become a regular presence in both the Under-18s and Under-21s teams.

Feeney's consistent performances have caught the attention of the first-team coaching staff, resulting in him being named on the bench for several matches.

The 18-year-old defender's potential was recognized during the club's tour of Australia in the summer of 2022, where he had the opportunity to play against Leeds United.

In addition to his achievements at the club level, Feeney has also represented England as part of the national team's youth setup. He has also captained the Three Lions' Under-16s squad.

Mark Harrison, the Academy Manager at Aston Villa, expressed his satisfaction with Feeney's decision to commit his future to the club.

Harrison commented, "We are delighted that Josh has signed a new long-term contract. As somebody who has already had first-team experience and captained England at youth level by the age of 18, it is clear to see that Josh has undoubted potential, and we are really looking forward to seeing how he will develop over the coming years."
