Fleetwood Town Football Club has successfully signed Ryan Graydon, the 24-year-old winger from the League of Ireland Premier Division's Derry City.

The Dublin-born player will be joining the English club on a two-year contract, with an option for the club to extend for a third year.

Graydon's season with Derry City so far has seen him scoring twice and assisting another six goals for the Candystripes.

The promising winger began his football career at the League of Ireland side Bohemian. He made his debut in 2019, helping his team to a victory against St Patricks Athletic.

After two seasons with Bohemian, Graydon moved to Bray Wanderers and spent two years there. Later, in December 2021, he joined Longford Town for a season before moving to Derry City in July.

He made his debut with Derry against FC Riga in the Europa Conference League Qualifier at the Brandywell. During his tenure at Derry City, Graydon made 44 appearances, scoring five goals and delivering nine assists.

Ruaidhri Higgins, the manager of Derry City, reflected positively on Graydon's time at the club, stating, "Ryan wasn’t a player that everyone was talking about when he came in, but he has established himself as a really good player in this league over the past year.”

Higgins believes that Graydon's development will continue at Fleetwood Town, saying, “This is a good deal for Ryan and for Derry City and I have no doubt that he can continue on with his development at Fleetwood Town.”

Fleetwood Town have a number of players who have featured in the League of Ireland including Junior Quitirna, Promise Omochere and Barry Baggley.
