On this week’s extratime.com podcast with Luke Jordan, we continue our build up to the FIFA Women’s World Cup, we hear from Megan Connolly, Lilly Agg, and Denise O’Sullivan, Kerry F.C. player Leo Gaxha is on with Luke to chat about the newest League of Ireland side and his own football journey, and we look ahead to Shamrock Rovers European clash on the horizon.

Luke Jordan is joined by Macdara Ferris on the podcast once again as they continue the build-up to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup edges closer. The Republic of Ireland take on France on Thursday as Macdara give his thoughts on their last game in Dublin before they leave for Australia. 

We also hear from Megan Connolly, Lilly Agg and Denise O’Sullivan as they look ahead to representing Ireland at the tournament this month. 

The lads also discuss the latest in the Vera Pauw and NWSL scandal after fresh reports emerged this week.

In the second half, Leo Gaxha of Kerry F.C. is on the show to talk to Luke. Gaxha speaks about the clubs first year in the League of Ireland, being an amateur club in the First Division, the progression he feels the team has made in a short space of time and being a local player for the club. 

He also chats about his own persona journey from playing for Tralee Dynamos to going over to Sheffield United at 15 years old, what it’s like playing in a Premier League academy, togging out for Albania underage sides and the difficulties he experienced growing up in Ireland.

For the final part, Luke and Macdara look back at the latest action in the SSE Airtricity League as Rovers lose to Dundalk and St. Pats hammer UCD. Macdara gives his preview ahead of Shamrock Rovers Champions League first round qualifier home tie against Icelandic side Breiðablik. 



We also hear from Shamrock Rovers Women’s Head Coach Collie O’Neill after their 3-2 win against Glentoran in the Avenir Cup.
