Everton Women's Football Club has confirmed the signing of Italian international striker Martina Piemonte from AC Milan, with the forward agreeing to a two-year contract set to run until the end of June 2025. Piemonte, 25, becomes the first new addition to the Blues this summer.

The young striker is coming off her most successful season to date, having scored 14 goals and provided four assists in only 24 appearances for AC Milan in the 2022/23 season.

Piemonte, who has 13 international caps for Italy, will add substantial firepower to Brian Sorensen’s Everton attack. Her football career has featured stints at Sevilla, Roma, Real Betis, and Fiorentina.

“I am so happy to be here,” Piemonte shared in an interview with evertontv.

She expressed her ambitions for the club, stating, “What I want to achieve is put Everton in a position to win, working together with the manager and everyone else at the club."

Piemonte also acknowledged Everton's investment in women’s football and spoke of her excitement about playing in one of the world's top leagues.

She joins her fellow countrywoman, Aurora Galli, in the Women’s Super League, making her just the second Italian player to play in the league.

Piemonte disclosed that Sorensen’s confidence in her abilities played a significant role in her decision to join the club.

“He believes a lot in me and I will do my very best to return his trust,” she commented.

The new Blue is eager to make her mark, stating, "I will do my very best to score as many goals as possible and win together as a team."

On securing his first summer signing, manager Sorensen lauded Piemonte as an ideal addition to the squad, citing her physicality, composure, and goal-scoring ability. "It’s clear she is ready for the next step in her career, and I’m delighted she is doing that at Everton," he said.
