Australian international Courtney Nevin has made her move to Leicester City Women permanent, moving from Swedish club Hammarby IF following a successful loan spell with the Foxes.

Nevin, 21, had impressed during a six-month loan at King Power Stadium where she made a total of 12 appearances across all competitions. After proving her mettle, she has now signed a permanent contract with the club.

Speaking to LCFC.com, Nevin expressed her excitement about staying at Leicester City Women, “It’s such an exciting time to be part of the Club. We’ve got a fantastic squad, wonderful facilities and the chance to continue building on the success we had in the second half of last season.”

Nevin, who has already seen the potential the club and the squad possesses, said, “The league is so competitive, but we’ve shown that we have what it takes to compete, so I’m really excited to be part of that and look forward to seeing what we can achieve together.”

During her initial loan period, the defender made an immediate impact, assisting four times and playing a crucial role in securing LCFC Women's Barclays Women’s Super League status for the third consecutive season.

She was also nominated for the WSL’s Player of the Month award for April, after three assists and one clean sheet in just two games, helping the Foxes climb the league table.

Boasting 20 caps for Australia, the left-back has signed her permanent deal with Leicester City Women before leaving for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Upon her return, she will rejoin Willie Kirk’s squad at Belvoir Drive for pre-season as they prepare for the 2023/24 campaign in the WSL.
