Goalkeeper Evan Watts has signed his first professional contract with Swansea.

The deal will see the shot stopper remain with the Welsh club until the summer of 2025.

“Evan’s journey has been incredible, especially with the amount of time he's missed during his career due to injury,” head of academy goalkeeping Paul Wavell said, speaking to the club’s website.

“He's a local boy and he has just worked incredibly hard. He has developed a huge amount over the last 18 months and he thoroughly deserves the opportunity to have a pro contract.

“He warrants it, he has been really open to learning and taking on information.

“He has taken his opportunities really well. He has pushed himself and we knew he would be ready when given the chance to step up with the under-21s a couple times last season.

“There is plenty for him still to work on and learn, but he absolutely deserves this opportunity.”

The 18 year old has been with Swansea all the way from under 12 level and had to battle back from serious injury to both knees in recent years.
