In Friday’s draw in UEFA HQ in Nyon, Shelbourne were paired with Glasgow City in the first round of the Women’s Champions League.

The Reds will face the Scottish Champions on Wednesday 6 September in Lithuania which will host their qualifying group.

Victory would means Shels would play either Lithuania side Gintra or Cardiff City in a group final on Saturday, 9 September.

The winner advances to the second qualifying round with ties in October ahead of the group stages that begin in November when sides like Barcelona, Lyon, Bayern Munich and Chelsea enter the competition.

The final is set for the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao next May – with the 2025 final confirmed this week for Sporting Lisbon’s ground.

Last season Shels played defeated Slovenian side ZNK Pomurje 1-0 before being eliminated by Icelandic champions Valur 3-0 in a group hosted in Slovenia.
