Drogheda United has confirmed that the loan period for Freddie Draper and Elicha Ahui, both hailing from Lincoln City FC, will come to an end on June 30, leading to their return to their home club.

During their stay, Draper emerged as a key player, having made 22 appearances in various competitions and marking his presence with eight goals and three assists.

His impressive performance didn't go unnoticed as he bagged the SSE Airtricity/Soccer Writers Ireland Player of the Month award for May.

This distinction was the first for a Drogheda player since 2014 and marked Draper as the first teenager to win the award since 1999.

Ahui also made significant contributions to Drogheda during his loan period, with twenty appearances in all competitions under his belt.

He scored a critical goal for the club, securing a 1-0 win against Derry City in April with a close-range strike.

Drogheda United's manager, Kevin Doherty, expressed his gratitude for the significant contribution both players made to the club.

"I'd like to thank both players for their outstanding contribution to the club during their time with us. I must also thank Jez George, Director of Football and all at Lincoln City for their ongoing cooperation with us," Doherty stated.

The departure of Draper and Ahui will leave a significant gap in Drogheda United's lineup as they move forward without these two key players in the rest of the season.
