Brendan Rodgers, the former Leicester City and Liverpool manager, has been announced as the new manager of Celtic, signing a three-year contract.

This marks a return for Rodgers to the club where he previously led to unparalleled success, including consecutive domestic Trebles and an Invincible season.

During his time away from Celtic, Rodgers guided Leicester City to an historic first FA Cup win and secured two fifth-place finishes in the English Premier League.

His managerial career also includes notable stints at Liverpool, Swansea City, Watford, and Reading.

The club confirmed that John Kennedy, who has a long history with the club in both playing and coaching roles, will serve as Rodgers' assistant.

The coaching team will also include first-team coaches Stevie Woods, Gavin Strachan, and Harry Kewell, as well as B Team coaches Stephen McManus and Darren O’Dea.

Rodgers expressed his excitement about his return to Celtic, saying, "I am really delighted to return to Celtic and I am hugely excited by this great opportunity. When I was given the privilege of being asked to join the club again, it was a very simple decision for me and my family."

He praised the work of his predecessor Ange and the club's current team, stating his intention to maintain Celtic's momentum as they face domestic and European challenges.

Celtic’s Chief Executive, Michael Nicholson, expressed his confidence in Rodgers' appointment, stating, "We are confident that we have identified the best candidate for Celtic." He lauded Rodgers' established track record of delivering success and passion for the club.

Chairman of Celtic, Peter Lawwell, echoed this sentiment, expressing his belief in Rodgers as a proven winner.

He added, "Brendan is a top-quality manager. He has delivered before for Celtic and we are sure through his many qualities, he will do so again."
