Southampton has announced the release of a list of players from its men's squad at the close of the 2022/23 season.

Senior team members Theo Walcott and Mohamed Elyounoussi are among those departing, with their contracts set to expire at the end of June.

34-year-old Walcott departs after two spells with the club, having rejoined the team in 2020—nearly 15 years after he first left St Mary's to join Arsenal as a 16-year-old.

Throughout his most recent tenure at Southampton, Walcott made 59 appearances and scored five goals, raising his overall tally at Saints to 82 appearances and ten goals.

Elyounoussi, who arrived at Southampton in 2018 from Swiss side Basel, will leave after having played 90 games and scoring nine times.

The club expressed its gratitude to both players, stating, "The club would like to thank both Theo and Moi for their commitment and efforts throughout their time as Southampton players, and we wish both of them the very best for their future."

Veteran goalkeeper Willy Caballero's current contract is also drawing to a close, but talks are underway for a potential new deal.

In addition to the current first-team departures, the club confirmed that the following players on professional contracts will also be leaving this summer: Goran Babic, Sam Bellis, Matthew Hall, Zuriel Otseh-Taiwo, Leon Pambou, Fedel Ross-Lang, Jak Stewart, Will Tizzard, and Jack Turner, along with Caleb Watts.
