Rob Dickie is set to become a Bristol City player following his move from Queens Park Rangers for an undisclosed fee.

Signing a contract that extends until June 2026, with an option for an additional 12 months, Dickie completed a medical earlier today. The transfer will be officially confirmed once the summer window opens on Wednesday, June 14th.

Dickie has made a considerable impact at QPR, clocking 129 appearances over three seasons and earning the accolade of Supporters and Players’ Player of the Year in his inaugural year. His performance record includes two goals scored against City during his five encounters as a Hoop.

Commenting on his move, Dickie said, “It’s been exciting! I got married on Saturday, which was a proud day for myself and my family, and I came here this morning to sign and make it another proud day."

He further expressed his enthusiasm for Bristol City, "As soon as Bristol City showed interest, I was keen on the move. Having spoken to various people here, the club have shown real ambition for the season ahead."

Dickie, a native of Wokingham, began his football career at the local Reading club, progressing to his first professional deal with the Royals in 2016.

His journey included loan spells at Basingstoke Town, Cheltenham Town, and Lincoln City before his permanent transition to Oxford United in January 2018.

His contribution at Oxford was celebrated, earning him the Supporters’ Player of the Year title and playing a vital role in the team's run to the Sky Bet League One play-off final.

Dickie also shared his insights on joining Bristol City, stating, "I’ve had a brief look at the squad. There is a really good blend of youth as well as experienced players and with the Championship experience I’ve got, I feel as though I can really add to that and bolster the squad."

Looking ahead, he acknowledged the challenging nature of the Championship league, but expressed confidence in the club's ambitious goals.

"The club have outlined their ambition and aligns with my own, so hopefully we can work our way up the table this season."

In conclusion, he said, “After speaking to the Manager (Nigel Pearson) he made it clear to me how much he wants me here, and that’s important as player coming to a new club. It’s an exciting project and there are good people here running the club.”
