Tranmere Rovers have announced the acquisition of striker Kristian Dennis on a two-year contract, a decision that comes after stiff competition for the player.

Dennis joins the Rovers following a successful season with Carlisle United where he played a key role in the club's League Two play-off final promotion.

He displayed a commendable performance in the previous season, scoring 21 goals in 48 matches.

The 33-year-old forward's contract at Prenton Park will commence on July 1st, succeeding the end of his contract with Carlisle.

Speaking on Dennis' arrival, First Team Manager Ian Dawes said, “It's great to bring Kristian to the Club. He comes off the back of scoring 20 league goals and helping Carlisle to promotion. I believe he can add the goals we lacked in the last campaign."

Dawes further praised Dennis, stating, "He's one of only three players in League Two to score more than 20 goals last season. I look forward to working with him."

Nigel Adkins, Technical Director at Tranmere Rovers, also extended a warm welcome to Dennis.

He said, “A warm welcome to our latest signing, Kristian Dennis, to the Tranmere Rovers family. Kristian provides further balance to our squad with his experience, his goals record, and with also tasting promotion from this division last season."

Dennis, who boasts a strong record of 201 goals in 465 league games, averaging a goal in almost every two games, shared his excitement about joining Rovers.

He said, “I'm really happy. I came last week to meet the manager and was really impressed with the place."

Reflecting on Prenton Park, Dennis commented, "Every time I've played here, I've enjoyed it. There seems to be a good fanbase who are passionate and get behind the team. Hopefully, I can score goals for Tranmere and get us up the league."
