LOI transfer wrap: St Pat’s snap up ex Feyenoord youth as Dundalk sign Archie Davies

European chasers St Patrick’s Athletic have unveiled the signing of former Feyenoord youth Noah Lewis ahead of the 2023 campaign.

The Saints have been busy in the off-season, signing Tommy Lonergan from UCD and Jake Mulraney from MLS side Orlando City.

But the capture of Lewis sees them add some defensive steel to their ranks as boss Tim Clancy looks to strengthen his squad.

And Clancy said: “We are delighted to get Noah on board, he lot of very good attributes, he’s tall, quick, strong and very good on the ball.

“We feel we can help him to develop and that he will be a big player for us this season. Coming to St Pat's is a good opportunity for him to develop and progress his career.

“He’s had a few weeks with us already so he understands how we want to do things and we are looking forward to working with him.”

Meanwhile, Dundalk have swooped in for the services of Aldershot Towm defender Archie Davies.

Davies, 24, was previously on the books of Brighton & Hove Albion – but did not play a senior game for the Seagulls.

And Dundalk manager Stephen O’Donnell said: “Archie is a full back that is very comfortable on the ball.

“He gets into good forward areas and delivers good quality. He is a very good footballer with a great age profile and we’re delighted to have him on board.

“He’s really looking forward to the challenge ahead. It’s something new for him and he’s another player that we can develop and is hungry to get better.

“He’s been at a Premier League club and has also been in the lower leagues in England and, for a 24-year-old, he’s got really good experience.”

Elsewhere, League of Ireland new boys Kerry have unveiled the double signing of Callan Scully and Alex Ainscough.

Scully is a goalkeeper by trade and was previously of UCC in the Munster Senior League.

He was also on the books of Shamrock Rovers, St Patrick’s Athletic and Limerick FC at underage level.

Ainscough previously plied his trade in the United States and joins from Flower City Union – a side based in the third-tier of US football in New York.

Former Finn Harps forward Jaime Siaj has also confirmed his exit from the club to join Canadian Premier League side Valour.
