American born goalkeeper Luke Dennison is about to start his third season with Longford Town having just re-signed ahead of the start of the 2022 season.

He spent the second half of the season on loan at Galway United last year where he made an immediate impact in his first bit of action, coming off the bench to save a penalty against Cabinteely after Conor Kearns had been sent off.

Hoping to push on and really showcase his talents this year, the 25-year-old shot-stopper is looking to battle it out with Lee Steacy for the number one jersey.

Born in California, Luke has dual US and Irish nationality.

He is a product of the US collegiate system, spending five years in the soccer programme at University of California, Chico, graduating in 2018 with a degree in PR. Before committing to college, Luke had been in the academy of MLS side San Jose Earthquakes.

He joined Longford Town in 2019 in the July window and spent two years there before venturing further west to Galway Utd.

Longford Town, under new manager Gary Cronin, begin their 2020 First Division campaign with an away match against Cobh Ramblers at St Colman’s Park on Saturday, 19 February (kick-off 7.30pm).
