Women’s National League champions Shelbourne have announced the re-signing of captain Pearl Slattery ahead of the 2022 season.

Slattery scored three times and was almost ever present for the Reds as they claimed their first WNL title since 2016.

She also helped her side to last year’s FAI Cup final with the Dublin side losing out to Wexford Youths at Tallaght Stadium in November.

The 32 year old is one of the most decorated WNL players of all time having signed initially for Raheny United during the 2012/13 season. She would go on to win two WNL titles and three FAI Cups as part of that Raheny team.

Raheny United merged with Shelbourne ahead of the 2015/16 season and Slattery was art of the Shels squad that completed the League and Cup double in 2016 to add to her list of honours.

She was also included in the WNL Team of the Year for 2016 and 2020.

The Reds begin their campaign at home to Bohemians on Saturday, 5 March.
